The ten cent Pie Social held in Larson's Hall last Wednesday netted between twenty five and thirty dollars. Organizer Mr. Crouch noted the event aimed modestly and schoolchildren featured prominently with Mrs. Chae Young delivering a notable recitation. The program closed with a praised tableau and an exchange of light entertainment. Local residents praise the effort and plan for future community fundraisers while noting other town activities and upcoming events.
A small turnout at the Saturday afternoon ratepayers meeting discussed the Free Soil settlement’s good financial and educational state. Voters reelected Mr. Dune can ly aculametion as a three year trustee and approved buying a piano for the school, welcomed by residents who value its presence.
