Lethbridge residents awoke to a modern 20 ton self propelled field gun stationed north of the First Baptist church on Fourth Avenue South. The 25 pounder moved under its own power from Kenyon Field to the city display with a cautious route to protect streets. Public viewing times are 6 30 to 10 p m Thursday and 2 to 10 p m Saturday during Canadian Army Week. Young men are urged to inquire about joining one of five reserve army units in Lethbridge.

Youth fined for speeding in police court plea
Walter Wesko of Lethbridge pleaded guilty for the second time in a week to driving his motorcycle at an unreasonable rate of speed in city police court Thursday morning. Magistrate T O B Gore-Hickman fined him 10 dollars and 5 dollars costs and warned that a future speeding charge could lead to revocation of his driver’s license.

Hat Residents Hurt in Crash at Redcliff Base
Gim Odland of Medicine Hat and his companion Miss Sulz were treated at General Hospital for lacerations and concussion and bruises after a 1929 model car plunged down a 150 foot coulee at the base of Redcliff. A steering defect is believed to have caused the crash. a Suffield bound bus carried the two from the wreck to the ambulance.

Mrs Minnie Culp of Magrath dies in Magrath hospital on Thursday September 23 at age 77 after nine months of ill health. Born November 18, 1870 in Rostock Germany she later lived in Morrison and Spring Coulee before moving to Magrath. In Waterton Park today Thursday a sale of Kilmorey Lodge is reported after a telephone inquiry to Mrs H Reeves who declined comment. The deal is understood to be completed. Kilmorey Lodge, started around 1929 by Mrs A Kemmis, grew from a small guesthouse to a larger modern hotel serving park visitors. Purchasers are not identified.

Cardston reports Art Widman a former Cardston resident now farming in Hartley district escaped serious injury when caught in a power take off on his combine. The machine tore his shirt and jacket and bruised his chest face and arm. Mrs Widman helped pull him free and he is recovering in hospital.
