Her father Mr Hiscox worked for the CPR near Crow's Nest Branch completion. The visitor sought out Mr Hamilton the schoolteacher and the late Dr Mawburn. Hiscox family hailed from Prince Edward Island. Mrs Stoddart's daughter Mrs Don Smith is married to St Thomas police magistrate. Budget Surplus Reported for Five Months
Ottawa reports a 292.7 million budget surplus for the five months ended August 31, up from 234.6 million a year earlier. Finance Minister Abbott cited higher defence spending and new taxes, revising the full 1950-51 surplus down to 15 million in the stop gap budget.

The bottle entered his body and caused great pain. He rode eight miles by motorcycle to his doctor and three more to a hospital. SERA, farming two miles southwest of Tempest elevators, harvested eight acres of Thatcher wheat last Wednesday yielding 571 bushels. The crop averaged about 71.4 bushels per acre and weighed 6414 pounds per bushel. French Vessel Is Sunk After Magnetic Mine Explosion
