One Dead As Blast Hits Ship
A British freighter Peter Dal off the Gulf of St Lawrence suffered a deadly blast on Friday. Llewellyn Bassett died, John James and Michael John McMahon were seriously injured. all three were near hatch No. 3 when the explosion hurled hatch covers. They were treated in Havre St. Pierre hospital. The vessel, en route from Barrow to Montreal, escaped serious damage.
