Woman Dies In Crash Near Monarch And Lethbridge

One woman died and five others were injured when two cars bound for church collided at an intersection on No 23 highway two miles north of Monarch. Mrs Sione Warink of Nobleford died in Lethbridge hospital. Injured include Stella Beatrice Overa, four year old David Overa, and Johannes Harvik, with the drivers cited for crash details. An inquest was ordered and a jury summoned.

Alberta Drainage Project Expands to 200000 Acres

Elephant Seal Numbers Rise Off Mexican Coasts says UC Scientist

Dr George A Batholomew of the University of California reports the elephant seal once thought extinct is multiplying off Mexican waters. The animal, up to 20 feet long and several tons, has a whale oil like product and can yield up to 200 Fallon of the stall. Whalers decimated the species in the 19th century. a few survived near Guadalupe Islands off Baja California.

Suspected Slayer Found Dead After Saskatchewan Ax Murders

William Perlitz, 61, accused of killing Sam Jones and James Bailey, was found dead near a deserted farm two miles from the Stowlea scene. A large manhunt, with 27 RCMP officers and 50 civilians, had combed the area. Police linked the killings to a boundary dispute. Perlitz had prior axe-related charges and a 12 month suspended sentence from 1931.

Stork Wins Race Over Atlantic

Shannon Ireland October 17 A baby boy born aboard a Constellation plane en route from New York to Frankfurt. The stork reportedly beat an American Airlines pilot over the Atlantic. Mother Darinka Parker of New York City and the infant, weighing four pounds, are reported well. Both were taken to Ennis hospital after the plane landed. The mother, a Bavarian war bride, said she did not expect delivery for a month and a half.

Danish Princess Aage of Denmark Dies at 64

Princess Aage of Denmark former Countess Mathilde Calvi of Bergolo died last night in Copenhagen at age 64. She was the daughter of a former Italian minister to Denmark and married Prince Aage in 1914, son of Prince Vindemar, brother of King Frederick.

Danish Minister's Wife Found Dead in Mexico City
