Final payments on oats and barley to begin today
The Canadian Wheat Board announced final payment cheques for 1949 50 oats and barley deliveries will be mailed starting today with barley cheques issued first. About 42 percent of barley payments go to Manitoba, 34 percent to Saskatchewan, 24 percent to Alberta. oats payments allocate 23 percent to Manitoba, 25 percent to Alberta, 52 percent to Saskatchewan. Payments are based on board records on a two grade basis and producers need not forward their certificates.

Two Grizzlies with One Shot in Wyoming

Fate of Hunters Missing Over Alberta Plane
Edmonton October 1 The RC A F heightened the search for five hunters missing since Saturday after a two hour non stop flight from Grande Prairie to Edmonton failed to arrive. A daylight sweep by five planes and a night mission by two more found no trace. The missing Cessna twin engined aircraft carried Barry Pennington 33 Vancouver and four Edmonton men, Reid son of former premier RG Reid among them. Weather was clear today after icing and low clouds yesterday. The search by twelve planes focused on a 128 by 80 mile area starting northwest of Edmonton, a high probability zone including scrub timber and muskeg.
