More than forty RC AF pilots in No 15 Service Flying Training School Claresholm Manitoba Alberta area received wings Sunday afternoon from His Royal Highness the Duke of Windsor governor of the Bahamas and a Duke visit to the E P ranch. An American LAC J B Wilkinson greeted warmly as he saluted to receive his wings. The event noted as historic and cherished by the graduating class, with the royal standard over the decorated reviewing stand.

Two Nazis Recaptured Near Timmins Camp Break
In Timmins Ontario on October 6 two German POWs escaped from a northern Ontario internment camp and were recaptured hours apart. Fritz Fuchs, 44, a German sailor, was nabbed in a swamp by two members of the Ve l e i ns Home Guard shortly after 2 a.m. Karl Rudalon, 27, a merchant sailor, was recaptured before noon about eight miles from the camp. Puchs offered no resistance when seized, while Rudolph’s capture details were not released.
