Income Tax Exemption for Basic Herd Sales Approved
Ottawa announces full income tax exemption on sale of basic herds of cattle sheep and swine for farmers approved by the tax department. Farmers active in 1947 1948 may apply by April 30 1949. new operators by April 30 of the following year. Under the plan proceeds from basic herds are non taxable if cost was not charged against income and natural increases are taxable only at market value when added to the herd.
