The 'Kentish members of the 39th Battery were given, a hearty send off by their brethren of the Kentish association on Saturday night in the Sons of England hall. In addition to the members, Sidney Doe and Alf Whitehead, there were quite a number of their comrades in the draft present. President WakeJen occupied the chair/and on behalf of the. members 'presented Vice-president Whitehead and S. Doe with handsome pipes in cases, together with a liberal supply of tobacco.
