RANK L. Pilling aged 55 of 1416 Sixth Ave and Maury L. Webster about 52 of Santa Monica were killed Tuesday evening on a highway south of Manyberries while returning from an antelope hunt. Their car plunged into a dry creek bed as a culvert had been removed for road reconstruction. Behind them in a truck were Max Trimble and Byron L. Tanner of Lethbridge who stopped after lights vanished. Both victims died before aid could arrive. Bodies taken to Medicine Hat for inquest. funeral plans incomplete. The accident occurred on the Medicine Hat Havre road seven miles north of the border post Wild Horse, 35 miles southeast of Manyberries. Speed around 50 mph on a new grade with poor visibility. The ravine site was dry for construction of a new bridge. The Pilling car plunged about 15 feet deep. Medical exam showed both men deceased."
