Woman throws husband to death from fifth floor window

In New York on a Saturday night a 58-year-old woman, apparently insane, lifted her paralyzed husband from bed and dropped him from a fifth-floor window into a rear courtyard. The victim was Fred Bernkholdt, aged 64.

Windsor UAW votes to strike Chrysler Canada June 5

In Windsor on May 29 Local 195 of the United Auto Workers voted 98 percent for a strike if the company fails to meet demands. About 3,000 of Chrysler Canada’s 3,600 union workers attended the meeting and authorized negotiators to call a strike by June 5 or sooner. A continued assessment of 82 cents over 12 weeks would be charged per member if the strike occurs.
