Mass evacuation from Fraser Valley in modern Jerusalem siege

Arabs attacked Jerusalem and Egyptian troops moved toward Jaffa, reaching near Isdud two miles south of Israel. The Israeli army reported units advancing from Gaza toward Tel Aviv and Isdud as fighting for control of the Tel Aviv Jerusalem corridor intensified. Welder Burned in Oil Truck Explosion at Kerkhoff Garage

TABER May 29 Albert Sackman welder is in Taber Municipal hospital with serious burns and shock after an explosion at Kerkhoff Garage Friday about 3 30. He was atop an oil truck when fumes ignited blowing him from the vehicle. Richter a truck driver also injured in the blast.

Australian referendum defeated in nationwide vote

Australia’s Labor government suffered a commonwealth wide defeat in a referendum to grant permanent powers to control rents and prices. Six Die In Chicago Apartment Fire

A Chicago fire on the near southwest side killed six people, including a 12 year old girl and a four year old boy. An unidentified woman and two unidentified men were found dead, with another man located in a stairwell. About 23 residents were in the three story building, with several injured initially reported.
