Twenty two Mauthausen camp operators hanged at Landsberg

Landsberg Germany May 22 Twenty two operators of the Mauthausen Nazi concentration camp were hanged today by American war crimes authorities in the yard of Landsberg prison. Seventeen more were scheduled to be executed tomorrow. The camp near Linz is linked to over 700 000 alleged victims.

A detachment of 22 members of the Canadian Intelligence Corps, among the last troops repatriated from the Far East, passed through Montreal en route to homes across Canada after arriving at Halifax aboard the Aquitania.
