A dawn scene of destruction in Sydney as rioters looted and burned after yesterday’s $1,000,000 victory riot. The catastrophe echoed in nearby Dartmouth and Kentville, with multiple stores smashed and gutted as authorities battled the unrest.
Ottawa reports 1000 troops moved to a point near Halifax to handle potential contingencies from the peace riots that damaged the city. No requisition has been made yet to call out the troops in aid of civil power, and the situation has improved.
