Police and prison officials search for Paul Hitura a 30 year old Canadian Army soldier who escaped from the Lethbridge provincial jail Thursday night while working in the power house. He was to be released April 25 after a five month Calgary sentence for breaking and entering. Hitura is described as 5'6" 150 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes, wearing blue overalls and a dark coat. Police urge anyone seeing him or acting suspiciously to contact the RCMP immediately.
Air force headquarters announced that First E. Q. Semple of Little River Road, Quebec, has been made a member of the military division of the Order of the British Empire for outstanding gallantry and leadership.
