Winnipeg June 21. Coarse grain futures eased as scattered prairie showers prompted selling on the Winnipeg grain exchange. December futures returned to the board with slight recovery near close before hedging sales pulled prices down again. Trade was mainly commission-house driven with no export business reported. Class two wheat unchanged from Saturday. Cash oats, barley, rye quotes listed with specific bid levels for No. 1 and No. 2 grades and track prices.

Cranbrook Rail Worker Pelton Dies at 85
Gilbert Robert Pelton a veteran Cranbrook railwayman of 30 years died at St. Eugene hospital after illness at 85. Born in Newport Vermont he moved to Nelson in 1906 and to Cranbrook in 1915 to work as locomotive engineer retiring in 1945. Survived by three sons and four sisters. Funeral held Saturday at Christchurch where he long served as vestryman.
