John Mathew McMurren of Nobleford dies at 76 after a short illness in a local hospital. Born in South Dakota, he moved from Edmonton to Cranbrook then Lethbridge before settling in Nobleford. Survived by two sons George and Henry, two daughters Irene Titsing and Jessie Stegen, and a sister Agnes MacCallum. Funeral Tuesday at 3 30 p.m. at Martin Bros chapel with Rev. E L Garvin officiating. interment Mountain View cemetery. No flowers.

Police Court Fines In Lethbridge And Nearby Towns
In city police court Monday morning Andrew Farion of Lethbridge was fined $5 and $3 costs after pleading guilty to failing a report a motor accident. Alex Vogh of Lethbridge was fined $5 and $3 costs for speeding between 50 and 55 mph on Mayor Magrath Drive. Henry O Buckle of Trail BC was fined $20 and $450 costs for unlawfully having liquor where not authorized, and Carl Larson of Calgary was fined $20 and $3.20 costs for a similar offence. Fines of $5 and $3.20 costs were imposed on Dean Hansen Tanner of Cardston Woodrow B Wilson of Lethbridge J Achtem of Lethbridge and Adam Hoss of Picture Butte for driving across streets at nonintersections. Donald Baker of Raymond was fined $5 and $3 costs for failing to have a driver's license, and Ryutari Nakayama of Lethbridge was fined $2 and $3 costs for parking in a lane.

The RCMP are seeking the thief or thieves who stole a light green 1947 Mercury sedan from in front of City Hall at 10 30 a m Monday. New Wheat Cornell 595 Trial Sparks Ontario County Interest
At Whitby on June 14 a five acre stand of Cornell 595 fall wheat on Jim McMorrow’s farm three miles west shows five feet tall growth. The variety, developed by Cornell University, is untested in Ontario County. McMorrow expects at least 62 bushels per acre by early August, well above normal Ontario yields of 40 to 43 bushels.
