Soviets Turn Back Two Nazi Drives In Major Front Action

Soviet dispatches say two German attacks west of the Donets and in the Sevsk area southwest of Orel were repulsed with heavy losses. The front also reports a heavy air blow against Orchow area with 520 bombers. Berlin says strong Nazi bomber formations hit a Volta armament plant and Arctic air activity claims two merchantmen sunk.

Anniversary of Lidice Shown to Have No Survivors

London reports Czech government sources marking the first Lidice anniversary on June 10 1942 stating the entire town’s population perished many shot or sent to concentration camps. Light Raids Over England Reported In Air Ministry Bulletin

London reports scattered raiding by a few enemy planes with brief alerts and minor damage. An enemy plane was destroyed over the East Midlands and twelve German fighters struck a southeast coast town causing casualties. Chinese forces recapture Kun gan base in Sichuan Hupeh front
