CHARLIE CHAPLIN ON THE JOB AGAIN Charlie Chaplin unbounded succes sat Starland last nighl In his 'newest Efesanay comedy, entitled In the Park." In this comedy, Chaplin 1 takes entirely loo much interest in a 11-spooning" couple on a park bench, and is tli rown. off for his inquislttve- ness. He flees and is knocked over by a projecting limb of a tree, and falls Unto a baby buggy, whereupon, the nurse maid proceeds to give him a pummelling. In his fliEht he runs into a tramp who has -lifted" the pocket-book of the girl "spoouer." The tramp picks Chaplin's pocket of some bologny saus- but while he does it Chaplin ex- tracts the pockethook from the tramp's pocket with his cane. A-giant happens along, and the three fight for the spoils. Chaplin's subsequent ad- ventures are equally mirthful. Tomorrow night, an exceptionally fine war picture, entitled "It'3 a Long, Long Way to will he shown Ajid the drawing for the pat- riotic 'horse will take place at nine o'clock. "THE GHOST BREAKER" AT THE EMPRESS The feature at the Empress tonight be "The Ghost a thnl- lin- five-part drama, with H. B. Warn- er in his original role. The story deals with treasure concealed in an old Spanish castle, which is supposed to be haunted, and a search for the plans, which takes the searchers tc and hack again to Spain. At ter many exciting adventures ue rightful owners gain possession of the treasure, which was almost m the arasp of a relative who had been plot- ting to secure it. The acting and; set- tings are superb, and the play is one of the best of the Paramount series. Other interesting pictures on the programme, include Pathe's Gazette of War News, and Charles Chaplin m a comedy, which is one of his special- ties It. is needless to say that there is nothing slow about this picture Messrs.
