Three Basic Gas Routes Outlined By Seattle Expert At Hearing

Seattle market survey specialist Fulton W. Copp told the Alberta natural gas board in Calgary that more than two million Pacific Northwest residents are immediate potential customers for surplus Alberta gas. He outlined three basic routes for export and noted rapid population growth in the region, with an all Canadian route expected to yield about 66 billion cubic feet per year once the pipeline operates.

Calgary man gets export permit for Alberta gas to Montana

Gordon M. Plotke of Calgary was granted a five year permit by Alberta’s petroleum and natural gas conservation board to export Alberta natural gas to Montana. The limit is 590,000 cubic feet per month or 5,030,000 cubic feet per year from the Vanalta No. 4 well in Warner area. The gas powers two cottages on his Montana property and related equipment.

Named New Bishop of Qu' Appelle

Regina June 1 Rev. Michael E. Coleman 45 year old canon missionary of Duncan BC was elected sixth Anglican Bishop of Qu Appelle diocese at a large Saskatchewan synod. Coleman said he is pleased and bewildered and will take two weeks to decide. He would succeed Rt Rev E H Knowles who retired April 30. Coleman is Oxford educated and came to Canada in 1927 with T C London England movement. He is married with two children.

St Mary Milk River irrigation plan gains approval

Agriculture Minister Gardiner announced in the house that an agreement for the St Mary Milk rivers irrigation project in Southern Alberta has been signed.
