Pincher Man Is Drowned Near Pincher Creek

The body of Joseph Cheretle a 50 year old resident of the Pincher Creek district was found late Friday in the Oldman River at South Fork near Pincher Creek. It is believed he drowned while fording the river on horseback. An inquest into the death has been ordered by Coroner McLeod of Pincher Creek and details were scarce on Saturday.

Eight Coal Miners Die In Alabama Mine Blast

Eight miners were killed after a gas explosion at Edgewater mine near Birmingham. The blast injured eleven others, with some in critical condition, as rescue crews worked through the night.
