Soong Returns To Chungking
Premier T. V. Soong returned to Chungking from Moscow after a two week plus visit in the Soviet capital where he met Premier Stalin and other high Soviet officials. Million Dollar Blaze Destroys Harmonic Ship at Sarnia
Flames swept the 360-foot Harmonic at Point Edward Ontario dock killing no one but injuring 75 aboard or ashore. The blaze started with a gasoline engine explosion and razed 1000 feet of sheds, 12 loaded freight cars, and 21 empty cars. Loss estimated at 1 million with ship value around 1.9 million.
