Israel Accepts New 10 Day Cease Fire Plan
Israel today notified the United Nations that it accepts the new 10 day cease fire proposal. Foreign Minister Moshe Shertok relayed the acceptance to UN Secretary General Trygve Lie through Israeli representative Aubrey S. Eban. Shertok said Israel would issue orders once Arabs accept and cease fire orders are issued. In nearby fighting near Isdud 25 miles south of Tel Aviv Jewish troops reportedly killed 300 Egyptians and captured 200, while capturing the Lydda airport. Negba was shelled and Kfar Darom evacuated as Arabs recaptured Bett Affay. Tel Aviv reported bombings but no casualties.
