Weddings in Cardston and Natal—Chipman Bullock nuptials

Louisa Mane Chipman and Melvin Dean Bullock were married Wednesday morning at the Cardston Temple with President Ed Wood officiating. A 130-guest reception followed at the Welling LDS hall, featuring a three-tier cake and pink white peonies. The couple plan a Calgary honeymoon and residence in Welling. Ellen Holmes and Leonard Musil wed in Natal with Rev. J H Matthews officiating. Bridesmaids wore blue sheer, flower girls carried carnations, and a three-tier cake graced the reception. The couple will honeymoon in Calgary and Banff before settling in Elk Valley.

Picnic Planned by St Andrews Young Women Auxiliary

The Young Women's Auxiliary of St Andrew's Church will hold a picnic Friday at Henderson Lake. Members are asked to take the six o'clock bus to the lake if possible. Travellers' Aid reports modest June activity at the CPR station with more overnight stays and help for mothers with children. A child traveling alone was cared for overnight and sent on by bus. Several travelers resting briefly were aided, a free bed provided to one woman, and funds only enough for bus fare. Sixty-six people were aided at the station and 142 tram arrivals noted. The summer schedule adds buses. a matron reports extra services. An elderly woman briefly lost her path to Calgary but continued her journey after guidance. Meals were provided for two destitute elderly women and several benefit calls were made.
