James Byrne a 60 year old Port Moody worker nearly died after falling 12 feet into a furnace firebox at a mill chute in New Westminster British Columbia. He suffered back and shoulder burns and climbed out in a semi conscious state despite flames rising to 3000 degrees. He fell from a sawdust conveyor belt and survived with hospital care.
