Twenty men joined the stoppage, delaying the move of coal shipped 16 days earlier and valued at 250000 with freight costs another 150000.
CALGARY Jan 4 The jury was excluded three times during the riot hearing on supreme court Tuesday as seven defendants faced riot and related charges arising from last July at the fair grounds two city constables were injured and hospitalized. Justice Macdonald ruled that only the mutual charges of metting and unlawful assembly would be heard jointly and the other charges would be heard individually delaying the murder trial of Lloyd William Smith. Samt's case was set for January 21.
Toronto police say two men believed to be long term prisoners Mackey McDonald and Ulysse Lauzon who escaped Kingston Penitentiary last August 18 attempted to hold up a general store owned by Wham Frey at Thornton, Ontario nine miles southwest of Barrie.
