Churchill Manitoba February report says the Muskox expedition bucked 50 mph winds and 20 below conditions while halting 110 miles from Baker Lake after a Monday blizzard. Between Lakes Kaminak and Kaminuriak, the army RCA F and crews camped 150 miles south of Baker Lake and faced vehicle mechanical trouble delaying progress as snowmobile suspension parts were flown in for on site repairs. The detour runs west of last month’s Baker Lake supply party route through rough, boulder strewn terrain south of Lake Kamdnurtak.
