A daylight raid battered an East Anglian town and two others in the region. A coastal town faced a dive bomber attack followed by machine gunning of children. London endured bombs in daylight and a raid on an air raid canteen station. Nurses aided victims as fires and collapses disrupted shops and homes.
NKARA Feb 27 AP British and Turkish leaders were reported to have reached full agreement on Balkan and Eastern Mediterranean problems. Tomorrow’s conferences would focus on Russia. Eden’s secretary said the talks were so successful no further meetings were needed. Eden to leave Friday for Cairo then Greece.
Averill Harriman, newly named defence expediter for Roosevelt, will coordinate aid to Britain from London. The 49 year old financier has long ties to Europe and has held roles from railroad executive to shipbuilder, art collector, polo player, and Wall Street broker. He has served as deputy NRA administrator and chaired the business advisory council in commerce.

A series of alleged thefts from the Royal Canadian Air Force at Lethbridge was disclosed in Seattle after customs agents seized a silk parachute at a First avenue shop. Samuel Thurston, held by immigration authorities in Portland, was charged with bringing the parachute into the United States without duty and failing to pay duty on other items.
British forces in northern Eritrea seized Kelamet about 30 miles northeast of Cheren and Nafka 60 miles north after Italian forces abandoned the towns. No resistance was met as troops advanced amid ongoing Cheren siege.
