There were present: May- or Adams, Aldermen Oliver, King, Frayne, Sage and Bowman. A petition for the construction of a sidewalk on Ford street, west, from Smith street toi the Macleod road was referred to the city engineer for a re- port on the cost of the walk. A letter was read fram W. A. de'rson and of wihipeg, stating their pleasure in accepting the appoint merit as auditors for the'year 1910. A letter was also read from C. F. j Spencer, of London, England, stating that he would be pleased to give quota- tions for the laying down and operating of a street railway system for the city. The letter was referred to the street railway committee. Garrett Resigns F. B. Garrett wrote tendering his resignation as city electrician, and J, stating that he had secured a more satisfactory position1. He wished to be relieved by the end of-the month if possible. The resignation was accept- ed, and the secretary instructed to ad- vertise for another, elecjtrician at once, the.salary-to be. offered being one nun- [oniy been done for two or three morn ings.
