Honorary Major John Weir Foote, 41, awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry at Dieppe, previously a Presbyterian missionary in the Coutts district during summer 1930. He rode a circuit spanning St. Kilda Aden and Knapnen, with a SE Alberta field posting in 1930, recounting a memorable stay in Coutts.
