UNO has no authority in Indonesian dispute
London Feb 3 The United Nations security council halted debate on Indonesia to study statements from interested nations. The Dutch said a very liberal settlement of Indonesian independence is hoped for soon. The council aims to please the Soviet Ukraine which called British troops a threat to world peace while seeking acceptance by Britain and the Netherlands. Dutch Foreign Minister Van Kleffens argued the council lacks authority to intervene. He referred to talks between H J Van Mook and Indonesian leaders about a liberal settlement. The session continued as Dit Manuitsky of Soviet Ukraine warned Britain’s force presence endangers peace.

Hess Taken From Court In Illness At War Crimes Trial
