Humphries, immigration inspector, returned last night from Mac-leod, where ho went to arrange tor the deportation of Perry .Merckel, a �Spanish war veteran, who has just completed a nine month's term on two charges of theft. Merckel was born in Centralia, Ohio, and was a member of "D" company, 6lh Infantry in the PhlUippines. He was also a member of one of the U. S. army signal corps.
