Fear Two Dead in Blairmore Mine
One miner's body was recovered after a cave-in at the Greenhill mine in Blairmore at 11 PM Friday. Rescue teams continued to search for 66-year-old Benjamin Carter as investigators opened proceedings and an inquest was ordered. Mike Kwiatkowski, 25, was born in Poland and married a week earlier. Carter had arrived in Crow's Nest Pass in 1900 and is a veteran miner.

AP dispatch from Jalapa Mexico reports all 17 aboard an airliner died when the craft crashed about 20 miles northwest of Jalapa in Vera Cruz state.
