Dec. a dance-held hi the Windsor Hotel on Friday even- ing for the nurpose of raising money for the Patriotic Fund, the substantial sum of ?70 was obtained. The rea- son that tliis was such a successful event was due in a large measure1 to the unselfish manner in which those who "got up the dance, donated! their time and services towards it, and too much cannot be said in regard to Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Madden in donating their hotel and furnishing .a large, part of the supper for "the dance ab-1 solutely free of any charge whatever.' It shows a patriotic. spirit and a de- sire .10 do something towards that most deserving cause. A word or'-two should also be said the ladies who supplied the music and kept the large crowd con tinually moving around the hall to tie graceful .swing-of waltzes, two- steps, one-steps, laricers and numer- ous other dances.
