The bid for the 185 foot high earthen dam at Spring Coulee linked to the 15 million St Mary Milk River Development was won by W C Wells Construction Co Ltd of Wilkie Saskatchewan. The tender totaled 2 081 700 dollars. Construction aims to begin soon and take two to three years, contingent on the lower tunnel progress.
