London Aug 24 AP dispatch reports a massive RAF RAF and RCAF raid on Berlin, twice as heavy as any capital attack, with about 2000 long tons of explosives and incendiaries. Fifty eight bombers were shot down, including seven Canadian crews, as the assault aimed to open a supreme offensive.
President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill proclaimed five unanimous outcomes from the Quebec talks. Full reports will reach Russia, and further Anglo American conferences are planned before year end to align policy on France’s National Liberation Committee while focusing on aiding China and Japan. The press was kept brief as leaders stressed the life and death stakes of the war and the need for secrecy.

The Berlin raid marked the Canadians largest loss so far this series of attacks.
