The Hudsons Bay Company supply boat Repulse foundered near Weemusk Ontario in rough weather. Three or four crew members were reported safe by HBC official Robert H. Chesshire who said details are unknown and the crew likely reached shore by lifeboat.
Allied forces fought to blunt a North Korean push toward Taegu as 50 000 troops massed for an assault from the north. A crack in the line could unleash five divisions toward Taegu 12 miles south. An American regimental commander warned this may mark the start of a major North Korean drive.
