Ack ack Ship Cairo Lost In Mediterranean

The anti aircraft cruiser Cairo and destroyer Foresight were sunk in the Mediterranean convoy operations to reinforce Malta. The air crew and sailors’ gallantry limited losses. at least 66 Axis aircraft were destroyed while eight British planes were lost. Details of ships in the convoy remain secret.

Milk surplus boosts UK dairy freedom as shortages loom

The Left Hand Corner reports Britain produced 750,000,000 gallons of milk amid labor limits and imported feed restrictions. In 1241 they reached 40,000,000, and last May one month saw 103,000,000 gallons. Now milk sale restrictions are lifted until further notice while hat shortages worsen in England, with talk of top hats and bowler styles reflecting broader supply concerns.

U S Sub Sinks Japanese Cruiser in Aleutians

A United States submarine reportedly sank a Japanese cruiser or destroyer in the western Aleutians. Navy officials said weather prevented exact identification, but the tally of enemy ships sunk or damaged in the region rose to 23.

U S Plane Sinks Axis Sub Off Brazilian Coast

German Sub Base Bombed by Allies Across Northern Germany

Dieppe Objective Attained By Allies In Major Raid

Allied forces led by Canadians and American Rangers and British units attacked Dieppe in the largest raid of the war. Reports say the objective to destroy a gun battery and ammunition dump was achieved amid heavy resistance.
