Current limits are one ounce tea and four ounces coffee per person weekly. after the raise, 3 ounces tea and 5½ ounces coffee. Allied air cripples Japanese force at Wewak New Guinea
Allied forces mounted a massive attack on Wewak New Guinea where about 225 Japanese planes were caught on the ground by American bombers. Some 122 were destroyed and 50 severely damaged with around 1,500 air personnel killed. The raid used 10,000 bombs and knocked a large portion of Japan s air strength in central New Guinea.
