Massive slide blocks C P R near Cathedral Mountain

Banff Alta Aug 17 More than 100 men with bulldozers and ditchers work to clear CPR tracks after a rock slide 45 miles west of here near Cathedral Mountain halts all east and westbound traffic. The slide began about 5 30 pm yesterday and dropped a stairway of rock 000 feet. No injuries reported though nearby towns faced devastation and a Field BC slide is noted.

Seek Farmer For Double Slaying

Cornwall Ontario August 17 police pressed search for William Earl Lama a 49 year old farmer wanted for questioning in the knife slayings of his wife Mary Jane Lama aged 39 and their nine year old daughter Mary Elizabeth Lama. Bodies found in tin covered shack near Harrisons Corners nine miles from Cornwall. Frederick Lama 17 said his father had forced him out and they had fights. He said his father last visited three weeks ago and argued with his mother over a board before the Friday killings.
