August 8 Ottawa report states Defence Minister Ralston announced mobilization authorization for the 6th Canadian Division of the active army. The armored division will be the 5th Canadian (Armored) Division, with training at Camp Borden and overseas movement planned. The 4th Division is mobilized, with about 2,000 under strength and most units authorized. Ralston affirmed adequate equipment for transmission and operations in emergencies.
