This company, on the close of their theatrical season in Chicago, were in- duced at a great cost to the manage- ment of the Lyric Theatre in Chicago to go there for a short period, after which they are to travel on the road, and LetllbridEO is one of the first cities they will play. They have been at the Lyric Theatre in. Calgary for the past four weeks. On Monday evening. August 16 they will present "The Matinee a de- lightful musical comedy in two acts, replete with singing, dancing and comedy dialosue. which won much praise" in Chicago and other cities where they have presented it. SACRED CONCERT TOMORROW In .their programmes the past three days, the Harlieh Concert party, has more than sustained ihe reputation established in its initial concert, which led to the engagement of this company being extended to five days. Altogether a better company lias, perhaps, never been heard in Leth- and the appreciation of the patrons o' the Starland proves the wisdom of engaging talent of this type. Tonight the party will be heard for the last time in a complete change of programme, except that the duet, "lo tamo will be repeated, in response to numerous requests. Tomorrow night at S.30. this com- pany will render a complete sacred concert at the Starland, for which no admission will be charged. 1.0 D.E. BENEFIT AT ORPHEUM Women have always been the judge of what is right. We feel honored to be chosen to present the Daughters of tie Empire entertainment on Aug- ust 16. If the Orpheum was not cool and entirely -worthy, the ladies would not have even thought of producing their play here. We desire to thank everyone for their patronage the past week, and to assure all that nest week's program even better, Rtibelitzsky has agreed to appear again on the 16th. The iimnngement wi'il not show an act or a picture that is not up to the best, and will not tolerate vulgarity at any time. Tho ladies and children are invited to attend our Monday mat- inee free, and judge the show for themselves. "DIAMOND FROM THE SKY" The1 Daughters of the Empire had charge of the Empress Theatre last night, and a good-sized audience greeted them. The first instalment of "The Diamond from the Sky" was shown, and judging from the first in- stalment and outline of the picture, this one promises to eclipse nil oth- er serials yet shown. Lottie Pickford and Irving Cunilnings play the lead- ing roles. The plot is a most inter- esting one.
