MOSCOW August 6 A P Britain the United States and France gave their reply to the Soviet Union on the Berlin and other questions in a three hour interview with Foreign Minister Molotov tonight The three western representatives went at once to the American embassy after the meeting They met with Molotov said Walter Bedell Smith United States ambassador No comment He juggled his briefcase from one hand to the other obviously anxious to get to work with his colleagues All three envoys Smith Frank Roberts of Britain and Ambassador Yves Chataigneau of France were non committed as they left the Kremlin Smith had arrived at the Kremlin first followed by Roberts who is secretary to Foreign Secretary Bevin and Chatsigneau These three all had conferred with Stalin Monday may be seeking a basis for ending the Soviet blockade of Berlin and resolving other East West differences Stalin was not believed present at this meeting which the western diplomat had sought with the foreign minister Four power meeting Diplomats in London said they expect a Big Four communique to be issued this weekend announcing plans for a new meeting of the foreign ministers council The council is the four power agency whose last two meetings broke up in disagreement Informed quarters said it was hoped that the last small differences among Britain the United States

Smoke bomb incident at Univis Lens plant scorches guards
Dayton Ohio August 6 A P reports a smoke bomb hurled from a passing car exploded near the Univis Lens Company plant guarded by National Guardsmen. Ten guards were in the area as three paper bags of gunpowder sparked. No casualties occurred. The plant, reopened after a strike by United Electrical Workers CIO, had workers returning when guard deployment followed a rejected settlement.

Wreckage Believed From Air France Giant Flying Boat
Flame scarred wreckage found off the African coast in the south Atlantic is believed to be from the Air France Lalicoere 631 with 52 aboard. The 73 ton six engine craft was en route from Martinique to West Africa and last radio signal was heard near Dakar.
