Riots Kill Six In New York Harlem Clash Sparks Death Toll

New York August 2 4 six people are dead and 201 injured including 49 police after clashes in Harlem. Rioters set fire to an unoccupied car and looted groceries while locals hurled cans into the street. Mayor La Guardia condemned the violence vowing extra police and detours as liquor stores closed. Drowning Tragedy At Lee Lake In Alberta

Bellevue reports a double drowning at Lee Lake near Burmis on Sunday. Victims are Steve Fargo 43 and his son Steve Fargo Jr 6, both of Bellevue. A Lakeland boy known only as a Russian hero from Lundbreck swam over 300 yards to rescue Mrs Guriel, bringing her ashore unconscious. The boat overturned during a family picnic and drag operations continued into Monday. The identity of the rescued boy or further details remain uncertain.
