Ottawa April 20 The house of commons moved into the final phase of the 1943-44 budget discussions after quickly approving bills amending excise, customs, special war revenue and excess profits acts all raising costs for Canadians. The income war tax act bill remains to be tackled.

Lt. James Francis Edwards of Battleford Saskatchewan shot down two Me109s during a dogfight over Tunisian airspace this week. The 21 year old pilot raised his total to ten enemy aircraft destroyed, a top score for the RCAF.
