Traffic proposal to council for city traffic routing
Town Planning Committee backs a short term scheme routing east and west tourist traffic through the city via the junction of Highway Four and Five to the Y on Third Avenue South. Westbound traffic would use Third Avenue to Fifth Street then north to First Avenue to city limits. Alternate routing via Third and First Avenues at Seventhe Street proposed. A Highway Three sign on Second Avenue would guide tourists to Galt Gardens and north to First Avenue then west on First. Repaint and relocate signs urged as vandals damaged many last year. The plan awaits city council action.

Temporary Curtailment Of Canada Flour Milling Operations
Canada’s flour milling industry including the Elson Milling and Elevator Co. Ltd plant in this city will throttle to 65 to 75 percent capacity. A week of shutdown early in May followed by about three quarters of normal output until the 1948 wheat crop arrives. The cut is due to a shortage of class two wheat for domestic and British needs. Long illness ends in funeral service at Southminster
After a lengthy illness on Tuesday April 13, funeral services were held Thursday at Southminster church with Rev. H A Mutchmer officiating. Many friends attended and floral tributes were sent in memory. Active pallbearers were B Fryett J Clark W Wasson J Brown C James and D Andrews. Honorary pallbearers included D Calder J Montgomery B Manson R Miller L Miller and I Hamilton. Southminster session youths fathered by the deceased attended, with representations from Teen Club and Lethbridge Collegiate Institute. Interment was at Mountain View cemetery with Martin Brothers in charge.

Cardston district elder Thomas A Anderson 68 died Friday morning after a period of failing health. Son of Johannes Anderson a Cardston pioneer who settled in 1887, he is survived by his wife and one child. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at the LDS Tabernacle, with Bom and Christen sen in charge of arrangements.

Mrs Dorothy Maria Dormer died Friday April 16 after a lengthy illness at her home 703 Ninth Avenue S Lethbridge aged 53. Born in Leicestershire England she lived in the city for 20 years and was a member of the Anglican church. Survived by husband John Dormer mother Mrs Elizabeth Sharman of England and sisters Miss Ethel Sharman of Blackpool and Mrs G Atkins of England.
