Akyab Bombed by RAF Formations Overnight
Akyab on the Bay of Bengal was bombed by RAF formations last night in a raid following prior attacks on Yegranbyin and Aimngdaung on Akyab Island. British forces reported near Zehkaung south of Taungmaw with Paletwa and Naba Junction also targeted by RAF bombers. At Naba Junction tracks a engine shed and a water tower were hit and rolling stock plus river craft were machine gunned. No British planes were lost. Land operations were mainly patrol activities.
