In a 1977 Memorial Day explosion a Concord man lost most of his left hand and nerve damage left his right hand useless. Doctors swapped his functioning right hand to his left arm, and after a 19 hour, eight doctor surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital he left with a normal looking left hand. He hopes nerves will grow back to use it for daily tasks and to play golf by 40.
Lethbridge West MLA John Gogo urged a 48 hour jail term for impaired driving in a debate on a bill seeking vehicle confiscation after a second offense. He warned the plan would turn vehicles into a government parking lot and burden families.
Norman Briscoe of Lethbridge urges more male participation in birth control training. He and his wife Judy volunteer to teach the Billings Ovulation Method, arguing birth control should be a shared effort.
