Kitchener Ontario defeated Winnipeg to claim the Canadian amateur hockey championship. Winnipeg won the first game 3 to 2, Kitchener the second 4 to 1, giving Ontario a 6 4 aggregate victory.
The Week at The War reports little definite front news. Germany threatens Holland over seized Dutch ships used by the Allies and submarines, while raids increase on the Western Front. French advances penetrate three German trench lines and 130 prisoners are taken as pressure mounts and U S transport and food supplies face renewed submarine losses.
Mrs Len McConnell and children arrived from Bracefield Ont and occupy Mr Grant Caldwells farm. Mr McConnell to follow with household effects soon. On April 1 two local storekeepers plan to start a cash system or line of credit for 30 at Mesars. PF McKinnon Co and S Kerr merchants join the move recently adopted by many retailers.

Jack Grasley returns from Owen Sound with summer plans, and Newt Miller to auction stock next Wednesday. Brisk social activity with dances, visits, and congratulations for newlyweds.
