The Carlsbad of America at Little Lake Manitou
Healing waters of Little Lake Manitou near Watrous and Xena are hailed as a potent mineral spring akin to Germany’s Carlsbad and Marienbad. Doctors praise its curative properties for rheumatism skin diseases and blood and kidney disorders while Indians used primitive vapor baths. Sanitariums and bathhouses are planned along the lakeshore. The Muskiee Wapui Sanitarium operates nearby and auto service links Xena two miles away. Canada’s total population is projected to 5,000,000 with eight and a quarter million in the country excluding overseas.
